Registration is open now for the annual marathon, The Middle Half, which takes place Saturday, Oct. 12. This popular chip timed race only allows 2,000 race participants, so get your tickets now! New this year, the marathon's certified course takes you on a run down tree-lined Main Street to Maney Avenue and the historic Oaklands Historic House Museum. Circle the Downtown Square, through the heart of the Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) campus, then finish with a party on the square.
When you register, you get a custom big with your name on it, a race shirt, a finishers medal and more. Prizes are awarded at the end, too, in varying groups. Cost to register is $68 now through Sunday, June 30; from then it goes up to $75 if registering from July 1 - Aug. 31 and $80 from Sept. - Oct. 12. You must be at least 14 on the day of the race to participate. Don't forget to involve the family! The course has cheer squads to keep you motivated and adds to the fun of the event.
The Middle Half benefits MTSU juniors and offers scholarships to them.
