St. Cecilia Academy - Girls Only Featured Listing
Since its founding in 1860, The Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia Congregation, who are sole owners of the school, have believed that when it comes to providing an excellent academic program and a faithful environment, neither must be sacrificed for the other. That difference creates a distinctive school which is rooted in faith and rich in excellence and where every girl can realize her potential.
Girls experience the fullness of a curriculum that features 24 honors and Advanced Placement courses as well as electives in fine arts, world languages and specialized classes such as Current Global Issues and psychology. Seventy percent of the faculty at SCA hold advanced degrees and 20% hold doctorates. St. Cecilia is a part of the Online School for Girls created by a consortium of nationally recognized girls' schools which opens the curriculum up to even more courses, especially at the advanced level.
Girls can participate in one of 11 team sports or 20 different clubs and organizations. The Academy has been named to the Top 50 best Catholic high schools in the U.S. five times since 2004. Ninety-one percent of the Class of 2011 was offered college scholarships totaling $7.2 million.
